Au centre trône le magnifique Hôtel de Ville, un chef-d'œuvre de style gothique flamboyant tardif édifié au début du XVIe siècle sous le règne de Louis XII. Son beffroi central mesure 47 mètres de haut. Au premier plan, on distingue la statue en bronze de Jeanne d'Arc, inaugurée en 1880, qui commémore sa capture à Compiègne en mai 1430.
