Ce moulin traditionnel faisait partie intégrante du paysage agricole picard du début du XXe siècle. Comme beaucoup de structures similaires dans la région de l'Oise, il a aujourd'hui totalement disparu. Le nom de ce lieu-dit, « Le Moulin Brûlé », est devenu célèbre auprès des historiens en 2014. Lors de fouilles préventives menées par l'Inrap, les archéologues ont découvert sous ces champs les restes exceptionnels d'une importante bourgade antique gallo-romaine comprenant un temple (fanum), un grand enclos sacré et un édifice de spectacle.
